I read them thrice and still can't say which one I liked more. Perhaps that of Elúred (because I'm in a gloomy mood tonight). Do they find them lovely? No, lovely isn't the appropriate word. Maybe enthralling?

(And yes, HoME aren't evil, I love HoME, HoME is a fëanorian's best friend) ;)

(Actually Silmarils are a fëanorian's best friend, um, but Eärendil's in the sky with diamonds-- silmaril!)
