As of this moment the archive section of our site is down for the upgrade and maintenance. The main site (newsletter, special projects, references) will continue to be available. You will not be able to read stories on the archive or access your account there.

Hi all,

I wanted to inform you all that the upgrade of our archive software was successful. Everything is working as it should, but if you do encounter something strange –no matter how small it might be; please let us know as soon as you can at moderator(a)silmarillionwritersguild(dot)org.

This new release brings changes for readers and writers. When you submit a new story, you will notice that the co-author’s field has changed. If you want to add a co-author for example, you can enter the first letters of the name and the page will show a grey pop-up window where you can select your fellow author.

There are also some changes when it comes down to browsing a multi-chaptered story: in the past, the story would show the table of contents below the story information that displayed the summary, genres act. If you would like to see the table of contents now for quick browsing, you can easily access it by clicking on the link named Table of contents that is displayed in the chapter information field that you can see in the story information. Furthermore, this new release should result in a faster and smoother page-load, depending on your own connection and computer of course.
