The 2007 Middle-earth Fanfiction Awards will start accepting nominations on June 1 at GMT. In order to nominate a story you must be a member of the MEFAwards Yahoo group; all members may nominate up to twenty pieces. Self-nominations are allowed. The awards accepts nominations of fiction, poetry, and non-fiction inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien (and adaptations such as the Jackson movies). You can read more about what type of stories are eligible at http://www.mefawards.net/mefa2007/index.php?page=FAQeligibility.
To nominate a story you will need the story title, the author's name, the author's email address, and a link where the story can be read. Please note, the general public must be able to read the story without having to log in. Stories are eligible once as a work-in-progress and once when completed, so be sure to check out our list of previously nominated pieces when trying to decide what to nominate. You can find this list at http://www.mefawards.net/mefa2007/index.php?page=FAQprevnomd.
Beginning June 1, you will be able to nominate your favourite stories, drabbles, poems, and essays at http://www.mefawards.net/MEFA2007/. (Please note, this link will not work until June 1.) We'll continue accepting stories until July 15, and all nominated authors will have until July 22 to accept their nominations. I look forward to your participation in this year's MEFAs.
