May 2018 Newsletter Posted!
May. 4th, 2018 02:27 pmOur May 2018 newsletter has been posted!
This edition brings you the latest news within the SWG, including a feature on our recently renovated References Library as well as an invitation to participate in our “Rise Above” challenge. We also welcome the new SWG members who joined us during April.
This month’s first half of a two-part biography is Galadriel, by Oshun. Galadriel is a rare example of a character added to The Silmarillion after and because of The Lord of the Rings. The complexity of her character development post-LotR largely comes from trying to fit her character into the existing myth. Part 1 of this two-part biography explores her life in the Years of the Trees and the First Age.
As every month, we invite you to read the latest updated or completed works in our archive, from poetry to multi-chapter stories. Our newsletter’s Around the World and Web section brings you a wide collection of links to the latest articles, fandom news, challenges, conferences or events announcements from within and beyond the Tolkien fan community.
As always, this newsletter would not be possible without the contribution of several volunteers. Many thanks to this month's contributors--Oshun, Elleth, Angelica, and Dawn!
