The SWG moderation team has been discussing improvements for our site and our group that we hope to undertake in the months to come. In keeping with our mission, we want to direct our efforts in the way that best benefits the Tolkien fan fiction community of which we are part. We have put together a survey to get a sense of how best to meet that goal.
We appreciate the input of anyone interested in Tolkien fan fiction and references/resources related to the legendarium. You do not need to be a member or user of the SWG or a writer of Silmfic to participate.
The survey takes between 5 and 15 minutes depending on the level of detail of your responses. We’ll leave the survey open for about a month and will collect responses during the first week of August.
Please feel free to signal boost this on other groups where this is acceptable. Thank you in advance to all who share their opinions and ideas with us.

I'm mulling over the current challenge, although I haven't posted a request or started a fill yet.

Date: 2016-07-10 10:44 pm (UTC)The survey was very much collaborative among the mods, and if you know us well, you can see our little pet interests surfacing. Russa with the tech stuff. Rhapsody with challenges. Me with the newsletter and References. I feel like you only get to impose on your members like this every now and then, so we made it count.
Right now, I'm thankful for being super busy with the New York Tolkien Conference because knowing that data is being collected always makes me feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, with all the gifts piled under the tree, wanting to rip them open and know what's inside, but knowing I should wait! :) I know the results will be useful in making sure we keep the group headed in the right direction.
