December 2019 Newsletter Posted!
Dec. 2nd, 2019 10:15 pmOur December newsletter has been posted!
This time of the year join the festive spirit by participating in our current "Season's Greetings" challenge, where you are encouraged to share your vision of a Middle-earth holiday or celebration. The mod team extends a warm welcome to our latest three joiners, who signed up durng the month of November.
This month's biography is the first part of a three-part series on Lúthien, by Oshun . Lúthien Tinúviel stands at the center of the legendarium, a character whose influence reaches past the Third Age and introduces, perhaps more than any other tale, the element of fairy-story into Tolkien's work. Yet Lúthien, who is "nobody's victim or reward," defies fairy-tale tropes in notable ways.
Find a list of all the fanworks that were updated or newly posted to the archive in the New at the Archive section of the newsletter. Around the World and Web brings you a selection of articles of interest from the Tolkien fandom and the fandom world at large, as well as challenges, fandom events, conferences, calls for papers, and more.
Many thanks to Elleth, Dawn, Oshun and Angelica for their work to make this month's newsletter possible!
