As for the temperature thing, have you ever not really paid much attention to the temperature outside until you looked at the thermometer and then realised it actually is as warm or as cool as you thought, and it wasn't "just you" (Is it cold in here or is it just me?). This is a sort of disoriented person figuring out her environment using instruments more than her senses.
As for the arrows, they did go through her and the buck. She's just rather stunned at the moment as this was most unexpected. Most folks don't get shot when petting inocuous deer in supposedly deserted places.
