I haven't gotten to commenting on everyone's latest work yet--y'all have been busy! ;)--but I will. In the meantime, all of the entries I have so far can be found here. If you would like a banner or icon for participation, check here.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about and what is B2MeM and how can you play ... our homepage answers all of that and more. :)

Date: 2009-03-13 01:07 am (UTC)This is another time when I really wish for a way to speak about a story than to say, "I liked it!" because, while I love your writing (your stories have been some of my favorite discoveries this month), then the topic is still so difficult to read. Change a few details, and it could take place on Modern-earth, not Middle-earth. Yet, as I saw you remark on the HA list today, that would be true; we're still talking about the same narrow and cruel people. :^/
I've been thinking a lot about gender issues in JRRT's stories lately and, hand in hand with that, race issues as well, and how I see the latter addressed relatively less than the former. (You might see more of it, since you write more about mortals; speciesism is more of an issue in Valinor than racism! :) I really appreciated this piece for not only taking on this topic but doing it so well.
