Recently, our webhost performed a software upgrade that is affecting the performance of the archive. We have had several bugs reported to us now.
- When a review is posted to a story, instead of redirecting the reviewer to a thank-you page, it now results in a completely blank page. Please do not refresh your browser; the review has been saved in the database and added to the story. Refreshing the browser will result in duplicate reviews. As a temporary fix, we are recommending reviewers delete everything after home/ in the URL. (I.e., http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/archive/home/) This will return you to the main archive page.
- When new stories are added, the same thing is happening: It is reverting to a blank page rather than the default thank-you page. Again, please do not refresh; your story has been saved, and returning to the main archive page should show it.
- Updated stories have not been properly added to the Most Recent list. If this happens to you, please contact us; we can add it manually.
If you've been experiencing any additional problems with the archive or have any questions or concerns about these known bugs, we ask you to please contact us at moderator@silmarillionwritersguild.org or leave a comment on this post. We are working to get these fixed and apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime. Thanks to all who have assisted us so far in reporting oddities and helping us to pinpoint where the problems lie.
