Last Call for Akallabeth in August!

This is the last time I will be pestering the group about Akallabeth in August until it's time to reveal some of the wonderful stories and artwork being crafted! A few topics remain, so I wanted to post one final list in case anyone is interested in putting something together for this event. Please remember that all sorts of contributions are welcome--stories, poems, ficlets, and artwork--as well as all ratings and subject matter. All that we ask is that the piece not be published before it is revealed as part of Akallabeth in August. Following are the topics/events that remain unclaimed. If you'd be interested in contributing something for one of them, please reply to this post or email us at moderator AT silmarillionwritersguild DOT org.

Those events in boldface are those that we feel most are essential and in which we are in greatest need of contributors. Please note, also, that some topics were claimed earlier by contributors who have since released them back into the pool of available topics. If you were interested in a topic that had already been claimed, check to see that it's not one that has been made available again! :)

• early "golden" years of Numenor: frienship with Valar and Elves, increasing knowledge in craft and lore, et cetera
• Numenoreans return to Middle-earth to teach Men there
• Tar-Ciryatan and Tar-Atanamir begin to extract tribute from the Men of Middle-earth
• division of Numenoreans into King's Men and Elendili/Elf-friends
• Numenoreans build settlements in southern Middle-earth and act as lords there
• Elf-friends continue to sail north and aid Gil-galad against Sauron
• Pharazon marries Miriel against her will and takes her throne
• Ar-Pharazon begins to worship Melkor
• construction of Sauron's temple and the destruction of Nimloth
• the faithful prepare to flee Numenor
• Elendil and his sons are spared and driven in to the east

That's fine, Indy ... and thank you! :) Whatever of the "essentials" don't get claimed, I will be writing, so I really do appreciate every one that gets picked up. Also, we won't have many ficlets, and I would like some, for variety. So this sounds perfect. :) I've noted it for you on my master list.

Feel bad, wanted to take part. There are three that interest me, but I'm drowning under the Amor in August swap. The timing is really unfortunate. I look forward to reading everything.
