September 2018 Newsletter Posted!
Sep. 4th, 2018 09:00 pmOur September 2018 newsletter has been posted!
In our News section we reminisce about our Fifth Birthday Celebration, inviting you to visit the amazing compilation resulting from that event in summer 2010. We nudge you once more to take part in our current challenge: Discovery or to view and comment on entries already submitted under this challenge. We also welcome three new members who joined us during August.
Himring is the author of the biography of Quennar i Onótimo. One among Tolkien's several fictional loremasters, Quennar was briefly an intermediary between Rúmil and Pengolodh and later attested as the loremaster who wrote on the reckoning of time by the Elves, a role that overlaps with the medieval historiography familiar to Tolkien.
Like every month, our newsletter’s New at the Archive section lists all the stories, essays, and poems added or updated on our SWG archive during the past month. Finally, to keep up with the latest news about the wider Tolkien fandom, the Around the World and Web section brings you a fantastic selection of recent articles of interest, fandom events, and calls for papers.
As always, this newsletter would not be possible without the contribution of several volunteers. Many thanks to this month's contributors—Elleth, Himring, Angelica, and Dawn!
