July 2012 Newsletter Posted!
Jul. 2nd, 2012 09:38 pmThe newsletter for July 2012 has been posted!
http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/news/july2012.php
This month, we have a new challenge to hopefully inspire our authors. What formative memories do you characters bring with them from childhood? Write a story about one of them for our "Of All That Remains" challenge. We also revisit a past challenge ("The End is the Beginning") and have a new quote of the month to inspire you.
Do you write femslash? Have you wanted to give this genre a try? Once again, the SWG will be participating in the International Day of Femslash, which is scheduled this year for July 14. This year, IDF will also be holding an online FemSlashCon that weekend; the News section has more details.
We have a lot of announcements from outside the SWG as well: a new Big Bang challenge, loads of challenges from other Tolkien groups, and some important announcements from the folks at the MEFAs.
Finally, you can get a recap of the stories posted to our archive this month.
Many thanks to Rhapsody for her help in putting together this month's newsletter content! Enjoy!

Date: 2012-07-03 11:22 am (UTC)I've never tried to write femslash but I recently read some and was quite impressed with how well it was done.
Rhapsody is amazing in how she manages to keep everything so well-organized. :)
