And as one of the organizers, I just want to say how happy it makes me to see people playing, there is so much femslash all of a sudden that it's hard to keep up! :D Thank you for the enthusiasm! ♥

Date: 2016-07-18 04:46 pm (UTC)Rec and Review a Femslash Fic That... Is by an author you haven't read before (G31)
Here are two recs, since one's a crossover.
Provenance (755 words) by rain_sleet_snow
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Lord of the Rings - All Media Types, Discworld - Terry Pratchett
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Polly Perks/Eowyn
Characters: Éowyn, Maladict, Polly "Ozzer" Perks
Additional Tags: battle aftermath
Summary:
Eowyn is a girl signing up to forget, and it ought to be as simple as that.
This is a charming combination of characters and settings. It seems like an improbable pairing, but the author has made it work, and it somehow manages to be comic and touching at the same time. And I love the descriptions, like this one: "Wyn smiles, a candle shining gamely through a thick sheet of ice."
The Princeling (4279 words) by AnnaFan
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Lord of the Rings - All Media Types
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Éowyn/Lothíriel
Characters: Éowyn, Lothíriel, Faramir, Non canon OC
Additional Tags: AU, no love triangles, Mild Sexual Content
Summary:
What if Faramir had still been unconscious when Eowyn went to look for the ruler of the city to ask permission to follow the host to the Black Gate? An AU re-imagining of the Houses of Healing/ Steward and King chapters in which everything unfolds rather differently.
Happy Birthday, Wheelrider.
I like this Lothíriel! She's only a name in the books, but this fic makes her someone that I'd want to spend time with and makes her seem like a worthy match for Éowyn. I like the reimagining of the wave scene and the way that Éowyn gradually realizes her attraction to and love for Lothíriel.
(And I love Faramir, so I'm relieved that he isn't treated as an obstacle here or made unhappy -- he's as calm and wise as he is in canon.)

Date: 2016-07-18 04:46 pm (UTC)Rec and Review a Femslash Fic That... Was Written For This Event (I15):
Throwing in a bonus fic here too, since I commented on Himring's poem before this number was called but I still want to rec it.
To an absent lover (97 words) by Himring
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth - J. R. R. Tolkien, TOLKIEN J. R. R. - Works & Related Fandoms
Rating: Not Rated
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Original Elf Character(s), Sinda | Sindar
Additional Tags: POV Female Character, POV First Person, Poetry, Free Verse, Memories, Beleriand
Summary:
Two (female) Sindar before the return of Morgoth from Valinor--one of them looking back on that time.
I always enjoy Himring's poetry, and I really like this one. It's beautifully written and playful, though it becomes very sad with the context of the title and the implication that the tragic events may have affected the Sindar couple also.
White-Flowered Also (in "Many Journeys") by Elleth (Tar-Míriel/OFC; link goes to SWG)
I loved this double-drabble -- it's so beautiful and sad that it gave me the shivers. I love the combination of dire circumstances with a fragile thread of hope, represented by the daisies.
