Happy New Year! Our January newsletter has been posted!
January is our Challenges "grace month", which means you still have a few days to participate in our current "Season's Greetings" challenge, where you are encouraged to share your vision of a Middle-earth holiday or celebration. The mod team extends a warm welcome to our newest members, who signed up durng the month of December.
Our character biography this month is Shelob, by Lindariel. The daughter of the monstrous Ungoliant, Shelob is one of the myriad links between the First and Third Ages. This biography considers her origins, appearance, evolution, and uniquely sinister ability to spin darkness.
Are you looking for something to read? New at the Archive lists all the stories, essays, and poems added or updated on our SWG archive during the past month of December. For information on what is happening within the wider fandom world, Around the World and Web is crammed with recent articles of interest, fandom events, and calls for papers.
Many thanks to Dawn, Lindariel, Angelica and Elleth for their contributions to this month's newsletter!
