asked for: "something about the last time Elrond and Elros saw each other". I really loved writing this one although I think I will keep the tune playing in the back of my mind when I wrote it secret ;)

This is the last farewell for you and me.
Now you will go
Where I cannot follow
My time is short
And I will live it to the full.
When death will come, my brother,
Do not grieve me
She will not be
A stranger when she comes
She will come to me
A friend, a lover
And take me home
Where I was meant to be.
But you will go
Where I can never follow
Into the west
And there you will be at peace
*~*
You will leave me here
Brother dearest.
To stand alone
In this emerging world
The hope I felt
Upon the wars ceasing
Has grown to dust
And dirt and hurt and grief
You stand before me calmly
Always smiling
And dig the dagger
Deep into my chest.
Should I rejoice now
In the path you chosen?
You say farewell
When life has just begun.
*~*
The tide is turning
Soon the ship is sailing
And I must go
Just as you must stay
So kiss my cheek
Embrace me now, my brother
This is the last
Farewell for you and me.
Now you will go
Where I cannot follow
My time is short
And I will live it to the full.
