For Hrymfaxe who asked for a poem about Mablung, after Niënor has run away from him and the other elves, and he has to return to Doriath and tell the news.

Nienor is lost


The lush forest
taunts me
reminds me of how I have failed.
She was meant to be safe here
to stay here
until her mother returned,
and now both mother and daughter
are lost.
I failed
to protect them
the charges of my King
and I return
with news
of loss
and uncertainty
but I swear
I will find the girl
or her fate,
rather than linger here
in the safety of the woods.
The canopy of leaves
feels oppressive
as if there is too little air
let beneath them
punishing me
for my mistakes.
Sweet lady of the woods
forgive me
I will not rest
until I have set things right.

Thank you! I a very glad you liked it!! Writing for someone new is always a bit intimidating.

Regret seemed to be the simplest way to deal with the topic, as well as the stubborness in finding what happened to her, and just seemed to lend itself to poetry.

I can understand that, but you did very well. :) I'm happy you enjoyed writing it too, I think it is really brave of you to just accept wishes like that.

I only offer to write poems because I know I can always do something in poetry and I like the challange of writing things I never would have thought of myself :) When it comes to fics I can't wrote to order..at all...

Japp, svenska :) Bor is Skottland nu men definitivt svenska. Det borde finnas mer skandinaver har sa det ar alltid kul att se en annan!
