Our October 2018 newsletter has been posted!

Following the two-part biography of Galadriel, this month’s biography by Oshun considers her husband Celeborn, who was notable as a warrior and a leader in his own right. A character dogged by movie fanon that would dismiss him as inconsequential and confused by contradictory texts, Celeborn emerges in this analysis as sympathetic, powerful, and wise: a fitting companion for Galadriel.

Our New at the Archive section brings you the catalogue of fanworks added or updated to the SWG archive during the past month. And last but not least, do not miss the latest news about the wider Tolkien fandom and calls for papers compiled in Around the World and Web.

SUMMARY: Galadriel is horrible to Celeborn. She has been spending far too much time with King Elu Thingol while Melian is away. Celeborn seeks solace from Galadriel's brother. Galadriel and Finrod end up having a knock-down drag-out fist fight. Thingol summons Celeborn to his office after chatching him with Finrod.

This story is not yet finished. It will be continued after NaNoWriMo in less than two weeks.

Author's Introduction: Hey guys. I do not usually write fic set exclusively in the times of the Silmarillion, though that backhistory often plays a part in my stories. So setting a whole story, even a drabble, in the First Age is new territory to me. I'm mainly interested in canonical stories. Is there anything here that contradicts what Tolkien wrote? Also, I'm interested in technical things. How would you improve this piece? (Keep in mind that it's exactly 100 words for a reason.)
