This month Dawn Felagund is the author of the Character of the Month biography, Amrod and Amras. Although Amrod and Amras appeared early in Tolkien's work on the legendarium, their characters unwent significant shifts as he worked on the Silmarillion materials of which they were part.

Celebration Day: Samwise Gardner's Birthday (Part 2), by Lindariel, discusses lembas: what we know of it from the canon, similar foods, and one way of preparing it for yourself.

Summary: After the kin-slaying of Doriath, Geliriel strives to help her beloved Amrod recover from his wounds, both physical and mental.

A series of drabbles using the five senses as a theme, and told primarily from Amrod's PoV, with the exception of the last one.

I keep forgetting I can post my Sil fics here (though I don't have very many to begin with)! I wrote one for Tarion as a belated b-day present, so I thought I'd share.

The Silm has so little to say about Amrod and Amras that I'm including the generic 'Sons of Fëanor' section in today's post, which contains all the quotes for the Sons of Fëanor being referred to as a collective and when all their names are mentioned in the same paragraph.

There were a couple of interesting points that the 'Sons of Fëanor' section reminded me of, and I wondered if anyone had any ideas about them:
1) Was Formenos to the east or the west of the Pelóri mountains in Valinor?
2) Why did Turgon vow 'to march never at the side of any son of Fëanor' only after the second Kinslaying?
