The July 2019 Newsletter has been posted!
June was Pride Month, a time to recognize and honor the contributions of LGBTQIA+ people, whose work and identity (or both) have often gone unrecognized in history. You are still in time to participate in our current challenge “Pride” — contact us to request a prompt by an LGBTQIA+ person. We are pleased to welcome four new joiners to our archive since our last edition.
In June Oshun posted Part One of her two-part Character of the Month Biography dedicated to Elladan and Elrohir, and she explored their family ties and the events in their lives up to the Ring War. Part Two is now available; it considers their role in the Ring War and the broader thematic importance of their storyline to the legendarium.
Looking for new or updated Silmarillion-based fanworks? Go no further than our New at the Archive section, a list of all works added or updated on our archive during June. Around the World and Web section compiles a selection of recent articles of interest, fandom events, and announcements beyond the Silmarillion Writers’ Guild.
Please join me in thanking our team of newsletter volunteers: Oshun, Elleth, Angelica, and Dawn who have worked to create and compile our newsletter content. We all hope you enjoy it.
