Day 14: favorite season.

Summary: What are friends for, if not to share a beautiful day? An unusually sunny tale for everyone's favorite Dol Amroth immigrant. Story in the Best-loved Sons universe.

How wonderful! I love all the little things that speak of Andrahar's upbringing in Harad, like his reaction to water freezing, or what the prospect of swimming does to him. It just makes it all so real! (For some reason, whenever the contrast between desert and water is brought up, it always puts me in mind of the Fremen from Dune. Have you read those books before?) Anyway, I loved it. Great job!! An unusually sunny tale for everyone's favorite Dol Amroth immigrant. Seriously! He is so real to me now that I really can't write much about Dol Amroth because, if he is not there, something seems to be missing. Go Andra! ;-)

Lovely vignette. Poor Andrahar--he just can't catch a break.

Thanks, Oshun! I had intended this to be The One Story In Which Dwim Does Not Torment Andrahar, but I couldn't resist the last lines. At least it's not something awful this time, and Imrahil will, I imagine, have a fight on his hands trying to get his friend into the water.

Celegorm said that he doesn't mind squeezing you in his fully-booked sunscreen application schedule. However, he requests that you do not schedule it during the bikini beach volleyball competitions as he's following those very closely.

I have to repeat what Dawn say: I was tickled too by Mablung's incomplete coverage. I'm sure the leaves are trying their best. :-)

Seriously, this was very fun, a nice use of the prompts.

(I always love your chibis even when I don't get around to saying it.)

My favorite season are the "in-between" ones - whichever is coming next. I like it to be around 50 F, so spring and autumn are cool - but by May I'll be ready for cooler temps again. And I'm certainly ready for warmer temps now!

So: Eowyn experiencing a Gondorian springtime. :-)

Title - The Best of Seasons

“Which season is your favourite, ada?” Eldarion asks me.

I ponder the question for a moment. Spring is the fairest of the seasons, when new buds burst with life. Fair too, is summer with its long days, and abundant richness of fruit and flowers. Autumn has its charms with golden leaves, and a fresh nip to the air. Even winter, so harsh in the North, has a beauty of its own when the bare branches sparkle with frost.
“Summer,” I tell my son, smiling at him. ”For my heart’s desire was granted when I married your mother on Midsummer day.”
