| Craft a story, poem or artwork where your character is in bed and he or she awakes to a future leader, heir, or current leader standing outside the window, staring into your character's face with a giant smile. What's going on? |

I did not get a chance to get the website updated with today's stories, but all entries through yesterday are linked here. This is also where the old prompts live--remember, they never expire! :)
If you would like me to link your entry, either leave a link (or post the piece) in a comment to the relevant entry on this community, or email me at DawnFelagund AT gmail DOT com.
Banners and icons for participants are here.

Date: 2009-03-18 11:04 am (UTC)Instead of writing today's prompts I opted to use one Mercurial Monday's other prompt. The adventure one.
I'm not sure if this is the place to note that, since I'm not actually writing the prompt listed above, so if you'd like me to do something else please let me know.
Anyway, it's a prequel to Where the Stars Are Strange, in which our Haradri girl gets a name and Aragorn makes yet more decisions. :-)

Date: 2009-03-19 01:21 am (UTC)The title of this one made me curious right away. The opening quote was magnificent and the way that you work it into the story. I still find it hard to put into words why your writing affects me the way that it does. :) I suppose it's because it's a mixture of so many things that I want in stories and so rarely find (even in published work): characters, cultures, an eloquent style, and a story that truly says something. Not for the first time this month, I have to commend you on a really excellent piece of writing. :)
And linking the Mercurial substitution here is just fine! I've added it under the appropriate prompt on the site and made an HTML comment as well that this is a replacement for Day 18.

Date: 2009-03-29 08:00 pm (UTC)That is why my dog sleeps in the hall bathroom-- she's never slept the night through. It's always lick, lick, lick, nibble, get up and lay back down, etc. So I sympathize!
