March 9: Nargothrond

Follow the footsteps of Finrod Felagund while spelunking through the underground realm of Nargothrond. Explore its riches and wealth and you will discover profound love for this underground city. If an active stay is not preferred, the Celegorm and Cufurin Company can provide you in a theatrical tour named “Does she love me or will she betray us?” (a beany Huan will be included for the younger ones), where you can follow the footsteps of the illustrious trio of Celegorm, Curufin and Lúthien as they weave their web of desire, power and politics.

Today's Challenge:
Write a story or poem or create artwork where the characters have to decide between loyalty or betrayal.

Nargothrond Passport Stamp Passport Stamp:
Once you complete the challenge, you may save today's image or copy the code below to display your passport stamp wherever HTML is acceptable. To have your stamp added to your passport, please comment on this post.

The usual continues to apply, but since we still have participants joining us, I feel like I can't say it enough. :) Please comment on this post if you need today's stamp added to your passport; we're not looking at links/entries posted on any other sites, comms, or mailing lists. Please also include a link, if your post is public, so that others may enjoy your contribution!

Responses need only address the challenge in the blue box; you do not need to include the day's location in your story/poem/artwork unless you want to.

Old challenges are always fair game, so if you miss a day that you found really inspiring, please feel free to go back and complete it at any time!

That is the most gorgeous photo of Nargothrond. (We'll have a fabulous Middle-earth photo album by the end!) My answer to Day Nine:

A dragon? o_O Not much to see in Nargothrond then if it's already been laid to waste. We know because Mablung took a peek and got the heck out of there. I like dragons, but it seems inappropriate.

I actually thought it amusing. :p :) It's like going to Egypt to see the pyramids and finding out there's a revolution. Could it be Celegorm? Or dropping by Mexico for vacation and getting caught in a drug war. Thanks for nothing Turin!

(And btw, no offense intended to anyone with the Egypt or Mexico comment.)

Just decided to join this fantastic challenge - in time for the end of the month/challenge, yes? Ah, well. Links to day 9 (http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/archive/home/viewstory.php?sid=1241&chapter=2) and day 10 (http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/archive/home/viewstory.php?sid=1241&chapter=1).

(Also: should I post the above to Gondolin too, or is this enough for both?)

Glorfindel, Gondolin again. There must have been a fair amount of this going on there near the end. Stamp, please :) (really need to post things, feels 'wrong' not having a link)

Somewhat late submission - mainly because I have been so busy recently that although I have been writing I have not been posting stories online. I'll get round to posting all my contributions publicly eventually (probably in week before Easter when term has finished), but thought I'd come and comment at least for the ones I have finished upto now. Determined to get the ones I haven't done, hoping late to very late submissions are still ok. Work somewhat has taken over my life recently.
