silwritersguildWe've had lots of signups for the Season of Writing Dangerously, both for authors/artists and cheerleaders. I wanted to give a quick update about how the next few weeks will work, as well as a temporary change in how to get in touch with the group mods.
I am leaving for vacation on Monday, 27 June. I will be home on Saturday, 2 July. The cabin we've rented supposedly has Internet access, but experience tells me that mountains + cabin doesn't always equal functioning Internet. :) So while I'm expecting to be able to check in periodically, I can't make any guarantees. Normally, I have no issue with SWG-related emails coming to my personal email account. However, while I'm away, if you have anything urgent that needs to be handled, please use the moderator@silmarillionwritersguild.org address. This will reach not only my email address but my comods as well.
In the next week or so, the group mods will be contacting authors and artists participating in the Season of Writing Dangerously who have requested a cheerleader. We'll need some more information from these participants in order to match them with a cheerleader, so look for an LJ message (or email, if you're not on LJ) from us in the next few days!
It is my hope that we can have authors/artists matched with a cheerleader during the first week of July. That means there's still plenty of time to sign up if you'd like to pledge to make progress on a Tolkien-related creative project. Remember that all Tolkien-related projects are eligible for the Season of Writing Dangerously, even those that aren't based on The Silmarillion. Sign up as an author or artist here and sign up as a cheerleader here.
