Oh wow. That was intense. I read both versions and I think the translation is quite fine. It's an interesting insight on a much younger Galadriel and what she would have done. She's a survivor through and through, and as brave as she is, she made the right decision. Maedhros is spot on - he was never as bad as Curufin, Celegorm and Caranthir.

Thank you so much !

Je pense que Galadriel n'est pas le genre de personne qui choisirait une mort inutile...

Title: Maedhros searching for the sons of Dior, by Gold-Seven
Type of Fanwork: illustration
Length (if applicable): n/a
Rating: n/a [general=not mature]
Warnings: none
Summary: "They came at unawares in the middle of winter, and fought with Dior in the Thousand Caves; and so befell the second slaying of Elf by Elf. There fell Celegorm by Dior's hand, and there fell Curufin, and dark Caranthir; but Dior was slain also, and Nimloth his wife, and the cruel servants of Celegorm seized his young sons and left them to starve in the forest. Of this Maedhros indeed repented, and sought long for them in the woods of Doriath; but his search was unavailing, and of the fate of Elured and Elurin no tale tells."

In the sleepless winter nights, when the sky is full with stars and the cold wind blow the shadows appear from the past.

Glad you liked them!
(I've got a Maedhros collection on deviantArt, so these were the ones I could retrieve most quickly.)

Hope you'll forgive me for being stalkish but I'm following you on DeviantArt - I see you're a Noldo fan such as myself. ;)

You're very welcome! But following me on dA will show you only what I post, not what I fave--and that, I'm afraid, is going to be very boring!

(Definitely a Noldo fan here!)

Don't worry. :) It works more like a bookmark for me, for whenever I need a quick shot of gorgeous FA elves. :)

There is plenty of rec-worthy fic by others (including, obviously, Dilly's above), but I have no time or energy to compile the links, so have a string of SSPs.
