Relationships: Nellas/Niënor Níniel
Characters: Nellas, Niënor Níniel, Original Female Character(s), Húrin Thalion, Melian
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Mental Health Issues, Fix-It, Eventual Happy Ending
Summary: Escaping her death in the rapids of Teiglin, Niënor has followed Nellas to the Havens of Sirion to begin a new life, but fate still has more in store for them.
This is an amazing piece written in Elleth's series about Nellas an Niënor. Where Sweet Water and Gold (https://archiveofourown.org/works/1036062) introduces us to this pairing, Wreath in the Rapids (https://archiveofourown.org/works/1114844) has you perched on your seet. By the Iris Mere is its satisfying conclusion with great characterisation and gorgeous language that just flows.
Now for something entirely different... For my rec and review card G36 Has a Happy Ending.

Summary: Nellas meets a young woman in the woods of Doriath.(Slightly AU towards the end)
Three years ago, Solanaceae wrote a beautiful story for me. I read it again this morning and again I was swept away by the way she portrays Nellas in this piece, and how she came to love Niënor so much.
Here is the copy of my review I left in February 2014 at AO3 (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1038033):

Characters: Finduilas Faelivrin, Niënor Níniel, Mablung, Original Female Character(s)
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Everybody Lives, Angst, Slow Burn
Summary:
The body which lies beneath the Haudh-en-Elleth does not have a name. Finduilas wanders the wilderness in its stead, and there meets someone as lost as she is.
I've read and enjoyed a lot of AU Finduilas/Nienor stories where they save themselves or each other, and this is a very good one. This story is so beautiful and sad, and yet strong and emotionally powerful. I love the writing here, too: "They rediscover language together, this way—Finduilas as the frost might melt in some deep, cold place, and her companion in a sudden spark the births a flame. So spring turns to summer, and their words multiply like leaves on the branches in the heat." I like how both characters remain so determined even when they've lost part of themselves.

Relationships: Arien/Ilmarë (Tolkien)
Characters: Arien (Tolkien), Ilmarë (Tolkien)
Additional Tags: Femslash, Femslash February, POV Female Character, Hurt/Comfort
Series: Part 10 of Femslash February
Summary:
Arien encounters Ilmarë one night after the Sun has been laid to rest.
Emotional hurt/comfort is one of my favorite tropes -- I can't get enough of it. This story clearly shows Arien's loneliness and weariness, the great burden she's taken on, and it makes the comfort and support that Ilmarë gives her all the more effective. “…I heard your spirit crying out in solitude” -- moving indeed.

Summary:
The seeds of love survive.
I'm sure it's no surprise that loyalty is another favorite trope of mine, and I really like this story. I love Sedil's loyalty to Haleth, and her delight when her feelings are returned. I like the sense of grim endurance on the journey and the hard decisions they have to make (or that Haleth does, since she takes it on herself).
Haleth is fittingly strong and pragmatic here: “It may be that we will be remembered; it may be that we will be lost to memory, even the long memory of the Elves. It matters not. We choose to make our own history, and if our deeds and our deaths are not recorded in their great songs, so be it.” I really love that.
