silwritersguildThis week (27 April – 3 May) we will be reading the Lay of Gudrun (with its commentary) from Tolkien's The Legend of Sigurd & Gudrun on the sigurd-and-gudrun-reading channel on the SWG Discord.

The Lay of Gudrun is its own poem (166 stanzas) but nevertheless a direct sequel to The Lay of the Volsungs, tracing the further fate of Gudrun, Sigurd’s widow, her brothers who plotted Sigurd’s death, and the gold hoard that Sigurd won from the dragon.
