The first entries for Akallabeth in August have been posted! As most of you probably know by now, we will be roughly following the chronology set for in the Akallabeth to creatively "retell" this book of The Silmarillion. Participants signed up for a topic in the chronology, and their entry either concerned the topic directly or took place at roughly that period in time, giving us a more or less chronological body of stories, poems, and artwork from the founding of Numenor to its downfall.

Following are the topics for which we still need writers. (Topics with a line through them have been claimed; if we get writers for most of the topics, we may allow duplicate entries.) If you are interested in participating, please read the guidelines and email us at moderator@silmarillionwritersguild.org or reply to this post to request a topic. Topics are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. Please note that we need all types of contributions, from full stories to ficlets to poems to artwork.

ETA (16 June 2009): Some topics are now marked in italics as "stories/poems only." These are topics for which we will have artwork; if you are set on writing something for these topics, they may still be available for stories, ficlets, and poems.

ETA (23 June 2009): The former ETA no longer applies. Eventually, I will get my poop in a group. By then, of course, August will probably be past.
