Stories, Poems, and Artwork Needed for a House of Fëanor Compilation

Next month will bring the seventh day of the seventh month of the year '07 ... is it any surprise that this has gotten some of us thinking of Fëanor and his seven sons?

Few are the characters in The Silmarillion that have inspired such a vast and diverse wealth of creative material as the Fëanorians. Next month, we'd like to honor that on SWG, and one of the ways we hope to do so is by illustrating each character's personal history with our own creative work.

We are putting together a compilation of short fiction, poetry, artwork, and excerpts of longer works about each character in the House of Fëanor. SWG is home to many talented writers and artists, and we hope that you'll help us with this project!

This sounds like a great idea! And I never made the connection between 07-o7-o7 and the house of Feanor. :) I'm glad someone else did! *goes off to start sketching*

Just to note that only half of my life is Silmarillion. The other half is moving ... I like the Silm-half better!

It is now 3 in the morning here, and I still haven't gone to bed... If there isn't time in a normal day, make use of the night! I was... *searches for proper word*... obsessed with sketching an idea I had today. And Maglor will be shipping to you soon, expertly steering his boat over the internet waters.

Be sure to move your moving-half to where your Silm-half lives! That should lead to a happy union.

I had just typed the last message when I stretched and looked out the window - to see the sky turning a magnificent delicate blue, and now the sun has almost risen. And it's 3 in the morning!! Oh have I love the white summer nights here in the North!

Sun rising at 3 a.m.? Wow! Though I guess it's understandable ... I remember going to Puerto Rico last year around the summer solstice, and the sun would set around 7 p.m. We are used to 9 p.m. here! It was odd. I forgot how even small shifts north or south mean very different times. :)

I'm so excited to see this idea you've obsessed over! This project has been a lot of fun already ... and it's just a day old!

I had just typed the last comment when I stretched and looked out the window. The sky is turning a delicate shade of blue, and now the sun is rising coating some low clouds in pink and gold!(and at 3 in the morning no less!) How I love the white summernights of the North!
