'Tis the Season of Writing Dangerously! Cheerleader Sign-ups

Volunteers who want to cheerlead will be assigned an author or artist (or more than one, if you dare!) to encourage across the duration of the Season of Writing Dangerously. We absolutely encourage participating writers and artists to cheerlead as well. As a cheerleader, you will support your assigned author or artist in whatever way you two decide. This might include brainstorming for ideas over email, sending encouraging notes, or providing support over chat as the writer or artist works toward a particular goal.

Cheerleaders will also receive a banner at the end of the event.

Authors and artists who want the support of a cheerleader will be matched with a cheerleader who shares their interests and preferred modes of communication. Please sign up on this post or contact the mods if you're unable to leave LJ comments for whatever reason. Simply copy the text below and fill in your own answers for the **starred text.**

We'll do our best to match up participants with cheerleaders who share their interests. However, we ask understanding in the (likely) event that we can't achieve 100% perfect matches.

'Tis the Season of Writing Dangerously! Author/Artist Sign-ups

We all have them. That story that's been collecting dust since the Second Age. That brilliant idea that there's never time to actually write. The artwork in need of completion or novel in need of polishing.

This year, we challenge you to take on one of those projects.

The Season of Writing Dangerously is open to all authors and artists in the Tolkien fandom who want to use the next three months to make progress on one of those never-quite-done creative projects. You don't have to pledge to finish, and you set your own goal. You can find answers to common questions and more information on how to participate on the Season of Writing Dangerously homepage on our website.

All participants and all participants who meet their goal will receive an award banner at the end of the season. Where and how to begin? Right here, by declaring your goal. We'll check back with you at the end of the season to see how you did and send you your award! (You can revise your goal during the season if you need to increase or decrease it.)

Remember, you set your goal, and no goal is too small or too ambitious! We're setting no limits on goals, just providing support along the way and shiny banners at the end!
