Okay, so I'll stop with the corny acrostic style subject line...

Here is my entry for Finarfin Appreciation Month. A drabble on the knightly virtue Courage. (If you'd like to see all seven virtues, you can go to my journal).

Courage

He stood, the icy wind whipping his hair around him, with the north road to his left and the traveled path to his right. People called out, but he heeded none.
Why do you tarry?
What are you thinking on?
Why have you come?
The last thought his own, he turned to watch the last of the caravan walk toward him, then past him. He sighed and steeled himself.
Behind him, his brothers, his sons, his people, walked on in search of glory and of new lands. But for him, one step forward led him down the lonely road home.

Since we seem to have a rather uncheerful trend going on, I'm going to try giving the poor elf some chocolate and see if I can't turn out a happy!Finarfin piece next time!

Smarter, or more able to think forward and see the consequences? Certainly Feanor can't see shit coming, and Fingolfin was bound by the words 'where my brother leads, I shall follow' but the Noldor ought really to seen disaster coming.

Then again, the elves should have thought that if the Valar appeared to be doing nothing about Morgoth, there was a reason, and that rebelling was not helping anyone. Maybe Finarfin was the only who did think this?

Perhaps he has more common sense? Feanor sure doesn't have much, and I wonder about Fingolfin with his duel with Morgoth, it was brave of him, but he was bound to loose...typical Noldor leaping in where Angels fear to tread.

Can I loan you a ferret for that bunny?

Ferret on it's way!

Poor Fingolfin, impulsive and temper driven like Feanor though he is, I can't help but like the guy!

Well, ok. (Just in the impulsive temper driven department.) He's not like Feanor at all!
